Rosette Bib Necklace Tutorial

Supplies & Tools

Scissors
Hot glue gun & sticks
Felt
Fabric (muslin or any cheap cotton)
Ribbon or trim
Pearls, Beads, Buttons, Brooches

Lets begin!
Rip you fabric into strips.  Tie a knot at the bottom of your piece.

Begin twisting your fabric loosely or tightly depending on the look you are going for.  I think a little of both is best.

Twist, dot of glue, wrap.  Repeat. This process takes a little while and you may receive multiple burns but it's all worth it. Trust me.

Now that you are to the end of your fabric put a dot of glue behind the rosette and secure the end to it.

 Done.

Now depending on the look you want, make two...or bunches more. Glue rosettes to a small piece of felt.  Then cut some long pieces of ribbon for the necklace.  Glue them to the back making sure you have the right angle for your desired look.

Glue some pearls to the center of each rosette if desired.  I also glued on some little bows as you can see here.  Make sure when cutting your ribbon that you give yourself an ample amount so you can make the bows larger or smaller to match. You can also add some other embellishments like a cool vintage brooch or some fancy buttons.

Here's a multicolored version with rhinestone buttons, feathers and pom trim.  It's my absolute favorite!  My awesomely talented friend took pictures of me this morning wearing it.  I can't wait to see how they turned out and I will post some pictures as soon as I get them.

I hope you liked this tutorial and will use it to make some cool necklaces of your own.  Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Okay so I tried the necklace as you saw, but I think the rosettes would be super cute on a tank or t-shirt...I'm thinking on the strap on one side of the tank. I'll work on that and let you know how it turns out. :)
